We Built an Orphanage

We Build & Operate an Orphanage

In March, 2022, shortly after the invasion, orphaned children in Kharkiv and Bucca had no place to go. More than 100 children needed shelter immediately.

Assist Ukraine helped start a new children’s home at a safe location in Western Ukraine. Chernivsti provided a facility. The Kharkiv region provided funds for basic needs. Assist Ukraine began providing funds for security, utilities, medical service, and education.

All went well for more than a year. The children were safe, well fed, secure, and going to school. Then, the war intervened. With a good part of its region still occupied, Kharkiv could no long provide its regular support. In addition to Assist Ukraine’s monthly support and help from local people, monthly contributions are needed for:

  • Food for 80 children: $2,500
  • Electricity, water: $1,500
  • Medicine & medical treatments $1,500
  • Firewood $1,500
  • Security $1,000
  • Total Monthly Cost: $8,000

If you, your family, or a group of your friends want to help some Ukrainian children in a very concrete way, consider making a reoccurring contribution to their safety and welfare. The need is immediate. Any amount will help. Donations are tax deductible. Please contact me with any questions you may have: [email protected]
